Thanks for sharing your story, it is inspiring to read how you create your own path and follow your heart. And we now read most on what all went well (the 'happy end'), but there must be a dozen of situations where you were full of doubt. Would love to read more of those stories as wel.
On a love affair with film: it is also a love affair with a camera. I tried the Rolleiflex first, but there was no connection. Now I have bought the Mamiya (different parts from different places in the world) and it felt right from the start. No idea how to explain. But in the end, I don't need to explain at all ;-)
Great story Pie! I’ve been following your trajectory for years and never imagined how it all started, but always amazed by the result. I’m still in baby steps in my film photography but your words motivate me. As a photographer myself, I thank you for telling us about your first steps!
Thank you, Pie, for taking the time to share all that with your community. As a photographer trying to start her career, you have no idea how every detail you share helps me realize that I could actually make it. What I mean is that we often see our inspirations as people who were incredibly fortunate and talented. We see their success and what they’ve become. But for me, it’s always been a mystery to understand how to get there. I guess there’s no single answer to that question, but seeing what shaped you into the photographer you are today helps me believe that I should trust my own path too.

Sure if you stay around those stories will surface as well. Lets not undress entirely on the first date ;)
I've had my latest film also developed by Foto Verweij. Did a great job.
Lovely to hear that!
